A muzzleloader is a type of gun that is loaded from the end of the barrel.  It takes special powder to fire, and requires special handling.

There are some very important safety precaucions when using a muzzleloader.  Always store black powder in a safe container, away from sparks or open flames.  When not in use, safely unload  your muzzleloader firearm.  Properly clean and maintain your muzzleloader.  Also, never blow down the barrel of your gun.  Never pour powder directly from the powder holder to the barrel.  You must first measure the powder.  Finally, you should always wear eye and ear protection, especially with muzzleloaders.
